Remy Athacou, of Yonkers, installs cameras for a living and found something quite odd on his own security system last week.
Athacou says he was in his car Thursday when he noticed that his backyard grill had been moved. After sifting through surveillance video, he came across a strange incident on May 24.
Just after 10 p.m., a man was in his backyard taking pictures of the patio chairs and the grill. He then leaves and returns – unhooking the propane tank and wheeling it away. The incident occurred while the Yonkers family was inside asleep.
After about a half-hour, the man brought the grill back, but left it just enough out of place for its owner to notice.
Athacou speculates that the man was trying to sell it and brought it back when he couldn’t. He says the grill was unused.
"I think I can say ‘thank you for bringing my grill back,’" he told News 12.
