Convicted Yonkers child rapist heads to prison
After multiple delays, a convicted child rapist was sentenced in White Plains Thursday to nearly 30 years in prison.
Eddie Cordero had already served three years for sexually abusing a 10-year-old Peekskill girl in 1998. Now, he was sentenced to 27 years for kidnapping a 12-year-old girl from a Yonkers bus stop and raping her. In court, Cordero tried to take back his guilty plea, but the judge wouldn?t allow it.
Cordero was sentenced as a repeat sex offender. While in jail Cordero had threatened the victim?s family so the judge also issued three orders of protection.
