A Westchester community is showing support for a local family struck by tragedy.
Richard and Anita Malarczyk died Dec. 29 while driving back from a ski trip in Vermont after a tractor-trailer veered onto the other side of the road and crashed head-on into their SUV.
Their children, Peter, Monica and Natalie, who range in age from 16 to 22, were injured and are currently hospitalized in Vermont.
A YouCaring page was set up to raise money to cover medical expenses for the Malarczyk family.
The couple's youngest daughter had to undergo several surgeries to repair broken bones, according to the fundraising page.
Her older sister and brother are said to be in good condition and will be staying at the hospital until their sister is released.
The fundraising page has already reached $55,000.
