Community comes together to help World War II vet
An Orange County community came together Thursday to help a struggling 92-year-old World War II veteran.

Ellsworth "Sparky" Wayman says his benefits were cut in half by VA doctors two years ago, after missing an appointment when he had the flu. The former Army private said instead of rescheduling, the case was closed.
The New Windsor resident doesn't drive and can hardly hear, and says he spends what little he has on cab fare to doctor's appointments. Some residents in Cornwall found out about his plight and have been helping with food and rides to the VA.
Other community members got together to help Wayman pay his taxes, and some have started a Facebook page to help raise funds.
