Cold cases suspect pleads not guilty to murder counts
An ex-convict police say is responsible for two murders in the county that occurred more than 20 years ago pleaded not guilty to four counts of murder at his arraignment Friday. Police say DNA evidence left at the scene linked Kenneth West, 53, to the 1983 rape and murder of Josephine O?Keefe in her Pelham apartment. Investigators say they have linked West to another previously unsolved murder in Mount Vernon. Police say West fatally strangled June Roberts in 1986. Mount Vernon police won?t discuss the evidence they have against West in the Roberts case.
West is being held without bail at Westchester County Jail. Now, investigators are looking into the possibility that West could have committed other homicides in the past.'83murder suspect indicted in another cold caseDNAnabs ex-con in 1983 Pelham cold case
