A boy?s close call on a Yonkers street has raised further concerns about road safety along a part of Warburton Avenue.
Eight-year-old Ryan Johnson suffered swelling, bruises and an injured mouth when a car struck him Wednesday morning. He left his home and was crossing Warburton Avenue to catch a waiting cab when he was hit.
The spot where Johnson was struck is right in front of a charter school that only got a crossing guard two days ago. There are only signs to notify drivers of a crosswalk, no traffic lights.
Neighborhood parents are calling for something to be done about the stretch of road.
