Tenants in a Yonkers apartment building complain the rain has led to raw sewage flowing through their homes.
Tammy Lewis says she noticed a leak coming from her bathtub Friday in the apartments on 73 Highland Ave. Lewis says she called her building manager, who said he would send a plumber over on Saturday. However, the problem grew later that night. Lewis says a steady flow of human waste has ruined her new carpet and the smell is offensive. Three other apartments are affected by the leak.
Landlord Hector Roizman has called in a cleaning service to pump out the water and says he is working to resolve the problem, but tenants complain this is not the first time sewage has leaked into their homes.
