A Clarkstown police officer is being hailed a hero after saving a 4-year-old girl from drowning this weekend.

Officer Paul Munding was off duty, but jumped into action to save the life of Ella.

Ella's mom says it happened during a birthday party when her daughter went after a doll in the pool and began to drown.

Ella's mom shared his act of heroism to send some love and recognition not just to him, but to all officers who are still working even on their days off.
