A friendly competition for high school football players across the Hudson Valley was held this weekend.
The 5th Annual Phil Bogle Lineman Challenge took place at Spring Valley High School.
The day featured 11 area teams from Westchester and Rockland counties.
Athletes competed in events like the bench press, tire flip, an obstacle course, the farmer's walk and a team tug of war.
"Competing, that's the biggest thing. Going out there and competing at the end of the day, it turns into a one-on-one matchup between you and the guy across from you, and this is where it starts,” says Phil Bogle, a 1997 graduate of Spring Valley High School.  “On the grass, on the turf, working with the group to accomplish the goal of scoring that touchdown or protecting the quarterback."
Clarkstown North came out on top in the challenge. It's the first time the school has won the title. “It feels great to win this,” says Clarkstown North high School Senior Jason Strum.  “It's just fun competing against the other teams we're going to play against during the season, especially Rockland, New Rochelle, just feels good to win."
