Citi-Bike has announced over the next five years it plans on doubling its service area to include parts around the Bronx.
The city will be getting nearly 40,000 new bikes, including pedal-assist bikes.
NYCHA residents and SNAP recipients can still get the discounted membership of $5 a month through the reduced fare program - in fact, that program, they say, is going to expand.
The city's Department of Transportation says it has laid out a draft plan, showing where some of the new docking stations may be in the borough. The city plans to unveil these plans to the public in the next few months.
