An international Chinese-American organization is donating thousands of surgical masks to Orange County today.
The American Chinese United Care Alliance delivered 10,000 surgical masks to county officials at the Emergency Services Center in Goshen.
Representatives from the organization, made up of Chinese American groups in the US and overseas, were there to personally deliver supplies.
“These are critical. We have a lot of health care workers sick. We have a lot of people working in the trenches getting sick. These masks prevent that. They prevent the spread of this deadly virus,” says Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus.
Neuhaus says the surgical masks donated will be immediately distributed to area hospitals.
