Chilling details emerge in New Rochelle abduction
Two men are facing charges after police say they robbed a New Rochelle contractor at gunpoint and abducted him.Police say 42-year-old Dino Esposito, of the Bronx, was preparing his payroll Friday when two men wearing ski masks confronted him and one pulled a gun. They say Sergio Ramirez, of New Rochelle, and Steve Morales, of Manhattan, forced Esposito into his own vehicle and made him drive to his home.Esposito's wife says as her husband and the suspects came through the front door, he tried to slam the door on them. She says they pushed through and pointed a gun at her and her son. The suspects beat her husband, she says, and also made him empty a safe filled with cash before running out.Police say Dino Esposito flagged down police after the suspects left. Cops started to chase the suspects and say the two men threw money and guns out the window during the pursuit. The chase ended on the Bronx River Parkway where the two men were arrested. Police say they recovered a handgun at the scene. Morales and Ramirez are expected to be arraigned on charges including robbery, kidnapping, grand larceny and resisting arrest.
