Children battling cancer walk the runway for Fashion Funds the Cure event
Crowds turned out Saturday to fight pediatric cancer in style at The Westchester in White Plains.
This year marks the first Fashion Funds the Cure event in White Plains, highlighting the stories and dreams of pediatric cancer patients from the area.
Children battling cancer were invited to walk the runway with models and help raise money for the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to funding research for finding a cure for the disease.
The event, emceed by News 12’s Tara Rosenblum, was expected to raise about $50,000.
Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease among children in the United States, yet only a small percent of funds spent on cancer research is directed toward childhood cancer.
Donations for this event can be made here.
