Cheney arrives in Hudson Valley for hunting trip

Vice President Dick Cheney arrived in the Hudson Valley Sunday for a duck hunting trip at a La Grangeville club. Cheney arrived at Stewart International Airport Sunday evening amid beefed up security.

Cheney arrives in Hudson Valley for hunting trip
Vice President Dick Cheney arrived in the Hudson Valley Sunday for a duck hunting trip at a La Grangeville club.
Cheney arrived at Stewart International Airport Sunday evening amid beefed up security.
Drivers can also expect delays or closures on roads that the vice president will travel along. Some of those roadways include stretches of Route 17K, Interstate 84 and Route 9.
Cheney will visit the Clove Valley Rod and Gun Club. He?s expected to leave sometime Monday. Residents should prepare for road closures and traffic disruption his way out as well.
Cheney accidentally shot friend Harry Whittington in the torso, neck and face on Feb. 11, 2006 when he pulled the trigger on his 28-gauge shotgun. The vice president was quail hunting in Texas. He later called the incident "one of the worst days of my life."Whittington was hospitalized for six days.
Residents joked they hope something similar does not happen during his trip to the Hudson Valley.
