Top morning business and technology headlines for Nov. 13, 2017:
  • Hasbro wants to buy Mattel and has made an offer, according to "The Wall Street Journal." Neither side is commenting, but if true, the deal would bring together two of the best known children's brands behind names like My Little Pony, Barbie and Hot Wheels. 
  • Jack Ma did it again. Alibaba's Singles' Day, a made-up online shopping holiday in China, brought in a record $25.4 billion on Saturday, more than Cyber Monday and Amazon Prime Day combined. New this year, more than 40 percent of the brands that took part came from outside China.
  • ESPN's "SportsCenter" is coming to Snapchat. The show launches Monday at 5 p.m. on the app. Other networks, including NBC, have poured millions of dollars into bringing their content to Snapchat's younger audience.
