Dozens gathered in Montgomery to honor Orange County residents who died during the Sept. 11 terror attacks.
The Patriots Day Remembrance Ceremony was held at the Orange County Arboretum.
The event initially began in 2002 and has been held every year since to recognize the 44 county residents who died at the World Trade Center, including 26 New York firefighters.
The men and women who died since the attack after losing their battle against 9/11-related illnesses and the soldiers who died overseas fighting the war and terrorism were also remembered.
At the end of the service, family members and loved ones placed flowers recognizing the lives lost.
