The celebration of Black history took center stage in New Rochelle through the music of the African Diaspora.
A concert was held at Generations Church on Main Street featuring musical and poetry performances, along with lessons on Africa's history.
The event, on its third year, embodies music and educational resources.
Books available at the event are meant to open up a world of knowledge. "We have one story that's Cinderella, Goldilocks, and the characters look like our children, so they're included, they're not excluded in the story," said Otilia Tanner, The Humble Bumble Book.
The community event proudly attracts people of all ages and racial and ethnic backgrounds.
