Many residents headed to the Rye Playland Beach to soak up the sun while still trying to find relief from Sunday's scorching temperatures.
With another hot and humid day underway, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has some guidelines that people should consider when in the heat.
Hot temperatures paired with the high humidity can cause heat illness to occur.
With a heat advisory in place until 8 p.m. Monday, the CDC recommends rescheduling any strenuous activities for later this evening.
The CDC also recommends staying in an air-conditioned indoor location as much as possible, drinking plenty of fluids and taking cool showers or baths to cool down.
