Car smashes into Eastchester nail salon

An out-of-control car smashed into a nail salon in Eastchester this morning.
Police say the accident happened around 9:30 a.m. at Kelly's Nail Salon on 288 White Plains Road.
A Mercedes station wagon, driven by one of salon's customers plowed through the front of the store causing considerable damage. The driver of the car was shaken up, but not injured.
Workers say none of the four manicurists on duty were injured, and there were no customers inside at the time.
The building inspector is looking into the safety of the structure. There is no word yet as to how much the repairs will cost or when the salon will be able to reopen.
