A teenager is accused of crashing his car into a house in Yonkers after leading police on a high-speed chase.
According to police, two cars were drag racing along Central Avenue Tuesday night and passed a marked police car. A teenage driver then led police on a chase along the Sprain Brook Parkway, into private streets and then on Mountaindale Road. Police say the driver was going so fast he jumped the curb, hit a wall and knocked over a fire hydrant before plowing into a front bedroom of a home.
The elderly couple and home health aide inside the house were not hurt in the accident. However, the house is so damaged that the couple cannot go back in.
