A car went up in flames early Saturday morning in Sloatsburg.
Officials say a 42-year-old White Plains man was heading north on the New York Thruway to Orange County when his car began to fill with smoke.
They say he kept driving on Route 17 in Sloatsburg when the car caught fire before he pulled over into a Pizza Pit parking lot. The car struck the side of the restaurant, causing minor cosmetic damage.
Fire crews were able to put out the flames.
The driver was treated for smoke inhalation.
