A popular restaurant in Mamaroneck was burglarized last night.

The owner of the Village Pizza and Pasta Restaurant on West Boston Post Road in the village says a thief broke in around 11 p.m. He tells News 12 that the crook smashed the front window, climbed in the pizza shop, and tossed the cash register out the window, where it broke open. The suspect then took off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The restaurant was closed at the time.

No one was hurt.
