Officials in Blooming Grove declared a state of emergency following a brush fire on Schunemunk Mountain Thursday.
They declared the state of emergency around 2 p.m.
Authorities said the brush fire posed danger to residents of the Mountain Lodge section of the town.
The fire prompted road closures and multiple fire agencies to respond.
Residents were forced to park their cars and walk up the mountain to check on their homes.
The brush fire was put out a few hours later, but firefighters remained on scene to ensure hotspots and strong winds didn’t create another fire.
Official say the fire did not damage any homes and that there were no injuries.
