It only took the jury two hours to find a Bronx man guilty on all counts in the murder of his North Salem ex-girlfriend Tuesday.
Ariel Menendez, 28, raped, strangled and stabbed to death 17-year-old Elizabeth Butler on June 5, 2005. Butler?s body was found in her car in Croton Falls by her parents. The prosecution contended that Menendez killed Butler in a jealous rage after she broke their relationship.
Menendez was found guilty of first-degree murder, rape and sexual assault. He now faces life in prison without the possibility of parole. Menendez is scheduled to be sentenced on July 25.
