Police are investigating the death of a man found at the corner of St. John and Prospect avenues shortly before 2 a.m. Thursday.
The victim was found bleeding from the head outside the Lucky Seven Lounge in Longwood.
Police say they are not releasing the 26-year-old man?s name until his family has been notified.
The bar's owner, Ricardo Martinez, says he arrived at the scene moments before police. He says the music coming from the lounge was loud, and none of the patrons heard anything.
According to Martinez, a garbage can was laying on its side next to the victim. Police later took it away as evidence, hoping it may provide some clues that will lead them to the killer. Outdoor cameras may also provide information about the incident.
Some residents say violence has occurred in the area in the past, and they claim a lack of police presence is partly to blame.
"One of my friends got stabbed outside there," says Susana Navarrete.
Police have not made any arrests in the case.
