Bronx man faces murder charge in subway push
A Bronx man was arraigned in connection with the fatal push of a 61-year-old man off a subway platform.
Kevin Darden was taken into custody Tuesday after a three-day manhunt. Police say he was caught near the East 167th Street and Grand Concourse station where he allegedly shoved Wai Kuen Kwok in front of a D train.
Kwok, who is also from the Bronx, was killed on impact, right in front of his wife.
The 34-year-old has a troubling past with more than 30 prior arrests. Authorities say Darden is suspected of pushing another man at the West 4th Street subway stop in Manhattan just 10 days earlier. That victim fell on the platform and only suffered minor injuries.
Darden is facing second-degree murder charges. He is being held without bail and is due back in court on Nov. 24.
