Police say two children were hit by a driver who tried to swerve out of their way at the intersection of Starling Avenue and Unionport Road.
The incident happened at about 5 p.m. Saturday night. A witness told News 12 The Bronx that the children, ages 13 and 8, were running across the street when the car headed toward them.
The driver drove onto the sidewalk in an attempt to avoid them but wound up hitting them both. The children suffered minor injuries and are expected to be OK.
