Brewster firefighters rescued a man who became trapped in a mine Sunday night.
They say the man and four of his friends “went exploring into the sealed-off mines and became trapped on a lower ledge.”
After attempts by his friends to get him out failed, they called for help. The man was eventually rescued after midnight.
A Facebook post on the Brewster Fire Department page says that “Brewster firefighters did an excellent job under dangerous conditions, including dodging bats at first and then pouring rain.”
