The LGBTQ community in New Jersey is celebrating a victory as the Biden administration lifts the military ban on transgender troops.
The ban was ordered under the Trump administration.
President Joe Biden’s order not only allows transgender troops to join the military, it also bars any service member from being forced out of the military on the basis of their gender identity.
Garden State Equality executive director Christian Fuscarino spoke with News 12 New Jersey on Tuesday to discuss what this order means for LGBTQ New Jersey residents.
