An Irish restaurant in Woodlawn does typical dishes like shepherd's pie and fish and chips, but it also goes beyond traditional fare.
The Kitchen is a cozy spot with many menu options.
"We refresh the menu regularly. No matter how good the food is, people get tired of eating the same foods, so we always add new items to the menu,” says owner Jackie McDonnell.

McDonnell has been around the world trying different foods. Her travels exposed her to other cultures, and that's what she hopes to bring to customers.
A sign inside reads “intolerance is not welcome here.”
The restaurant says it also gives back to the community by sponsoring local sports teams and helping the homeless get back on their feet.

"We want to keep the money here in the Bronx rather than send it to a big corporation," says McDonnell.

While there are many different cuisines to choose from, there are also healthy and not-so-healthy options giving everyone something to enjoy.

"We went to great lengths to try and source the closest version of what we have in Ireland,” says McDonnell.
