A building in Yonkers, that is known for its lifelike mural but threatened with demolition, has been designated as historic by the city's Landmarks Board.
The board voted in favor of preserving the building, located at 36 Main St. It's one of four buildings with lifelike murals painted on them.
The murals were created by artist and Yonkers native Richard Haas.
While the Landmarks Board has decided the building should stay, it's now up to the Yonkers City Council to decide its fate.
