Put away those shorts -- Old Man Winter is back! The Arctic blast is a big change from the warm temperatures that have made up most of the season so far.
As commuters waited for the early morning train at the Pleasantvillle train station, light jackets have been replaced with bundles and layers of winter gear. And with the wind blowing off and on, it feels even colder outside.
While the bitter temperature is a nuisance for some, it can be dangerous for others. Eighty-thousand people are homeless in New York State, according to National Alliance to End Homelessness.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo just gave an executive order to force the homeless into shelters when the temperatures dip below freezing, and to have those shelters open for extended hours.
