Officials say there is a new push to increase tourism in a small community located in Orange County.
The Town of Highlands Chamber of Commerce recently released a new poster-sized map and matching brochures that will be placed downtown highlighting popular locations in the historic area.
Officials say the hope is to attract tourists already there to nearby attractions like West Point, Bear Mountain State Park and the Woodbury Commons.

“We're really on a big push to bring in new businesses,” said Jim Modlin, president of the Town of Highlands Chamber of Commerce.

Orange County gave the Highlands Chamber of Commerce $5,000 to help pay for their tourism efforts.
