Communities along the Long Island Sound shore and Hudson River are preparing for potential flooding and storm surge from Tropical Storm Isaias.
Residents living along the water in Mamaroneck are no strangers to flooding and power outages that can come with heavy storms.

Superstorm Sandy brought devastation to the area in 2012,  as well as to communities along the Hudson River and inland as well.
Luckily, the region is not looking at a superstorm like that. But with the area also in the middle of a pandemic, officials are concerned as they prepare for the impending storm.

Lawmakers say they are preparing for the worst and urge the rest of us to do the same. "I think better safe than sorry. I'd rather be prepared and have people be prepared and its nothing then have people be unprepared and it hits us," says Mamaroneck Mayor Tom Murphy.
No one at Harbor Island Park in Mamaroneck says they boats need to come out of the water but everything certainly needs to be secure.
Charlie Cianci, of Harrison, says he came down to the marina to do one last check before the storm blows in. "I just came down to really check, make sure things are tied up, make sure there's nothing that will blow out of the boat."

The main worry is for flooding from heavy rains and downed trees and power lines from strong winds which could mean power outages.
The storm surge coupled with a full moon high tide will likely exaggerate some areas of coastal flooding.
Police tell News 12 they are going up and down the docks to look at every single boat and make sure they are secure.
