A new custom cake shop is serving up some sweet treats in the borough.
For the last two months, Laury Saldana and her staff have been whipping up custom creations at There Should Always Be Cake on East Tremont Avenue.
Saldana decided to open the shop after decorating and baking for five years.
The shop has treats including cupcakes, cookies and French macarons.
Though they have only been open for about eight weeks, sales at the shop have been strong. Saldana says they hope to add ready-to-eat items, as they only offer phone and Internet orders in advance.
The shop is also offering basic and group classes to learn how to make the delicious treats.
