A Marine Park dentist is hoping to ensure that veterans have a healthy smile this Veterans Day.
Dr. James J. Sconzo's father became a dentist after he fought for the United States. Now Sconzo is giving back to veterans who may not be getting the dental care they need.
American flags lined the walkway to Dr. Sconzo's office where veterans and their families were treated to a day of free care.
"Most disabled vets aren't covered for dental so this is our way of helping out," Sconzo says.
The dentist says they offered everything from X-rays to removing teeth to whatever the patients needed.
Dr. Sconzo and his staff will offer an addition day of free care at New York Presbyterian Methodist Hospital in Park Slope on Friday.
He says he will be providing these services every year around Veterans Day.
