Carmel police say a child was taken by helicopter to Westchester Medical Center after paramedics responded to a possible drowning.

Carmel police say a child was taken by helicopter to Westchester Medical Center after paramedics responded to a possible drowning.
Crews responded to See Avenue for a call regarding a 2-year-old boy feared drowned who was out of the water, police say.
A responding officer performed CPR on the child before he was rushed to Putnam Hospital Center, according to police. The child was then transferred by helicopter to Westchester Medical Center.
As of Thursday evening, police said the child was alive and being treated there.
