Athletes put their running, swimming and biking abilities to the test at the Sleepy Hollow Sprint Triathlon.
The event kicked off at 8:30 a.m. and challenged participants to a half-mile swim in the Hudson River, an 11-mile bike ride and a three-mile run.
Organizers say this is the 15th year the triathlon has been hosted.
The race honored Eugene Doherty, a founding member of the event who died nearly six months ago after a two-year battle with leukemia.
Proceeds from the race will also benefit the Village of Sleepy Hollow recreation department's teen summer camp, a program that aims to provide the community's youth with a safe and enjoyable summer experience.
