County Executive Rob Astorino and state Sen. George Latimer went head-to-head in a heated debate Tuesday.
It was the first debate between the two candidates and was hosted by the Westchester Business Council in White Plains.
Astorino, a Republican who is seeking a third term, traded blows with Democratic challenger Latimer during a discussion on property taxes. The two got personal, with Astorino accusing Latimer of not paying taxes. Latimer quickly denied the accusation.
Latimer also alluded to Astorino's absence during his unsuccessful run for governor in 2014, saying that he won't be around for Westchester County.
Astorino stood by his record as he discussed job growth and tax caps.
The candidates also touched on immigration, airport privatization and gun control.
