Arrest made in fatal Yonkers stabbing
A Yonkers man has been charged in the brutal stabbing death of David Benitez.
Benitez, 21, was allegedly chased and fatally stabbed outside a locked gate at the Schlobohm Public Housing Complex in Yonkers just after 6 a.m. Saturday
He was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he later died.
Police soon arrested 22-year-old Antonio Barnett. They say that he knew the victim, and the stabbing was "not a random incident."
Residents of the complex say there was a guard on duty at the time who could have buzzed him in. Police confirmed that the gate was locked and that a guard is posted there at all hours.
Barnett is charged with second-degree murder. He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday.
