April Fools' Day prank sickens Bedford students
Parents were outraged to learn who could have been behind an April Fools? Day prank at Bedford Village Elementary School that sickened two students.
Some students and their parents apparently laced a bunch of Oreo cookies with toothpaste and handed the tainted treats out to kids. Leigh Todd says her 10-year-old son came home feeling sick Tuesday. She found out later he had eaten some of the laced cookies.
Todd says she became outraged when she learned some parents actually helped kids taint the cookies. Doctors and poison control were called to the school, since ingesting excessive amounts of fluoride could be fatal.
Todd says she would like an apology from the school. The district says it has questioned the students and their parents. It is unlikely the students will be disciplined. The superintendent calls the incident a ?teachable moment.?
