New anti-Semitic hate speech at a Wilton middle school appears to target a specific student -- the latest in a string of similar incidents but apparently the first aimed at an individual, officials say.
The superintendent sent a note to parents telling them about a note reading "Jews will burn" left on a sixth-grade student's locker at Middlebrook Middle School.
It's unclear whether the targeted student is Jewish.
But as News 12 has previously reported, one or more vandals have scrawled swastikas in the school's bathrooms on two prior occasions recently.
"We need to make sure that we are teaching these students right from wrong and what they can say and what really can be hurtful to others," said Steven Ginsberg, of the Anti-Defamation League.
The Wilton superintendent said there will be a meeting with Middlebrook parents at 9 a.m. Friday at the school and a follow-up meeting Monday night.
