The Fairfield County Hunt Club is celebrating the 97th year of its June Benefit Horse Show.
Horses and riders are judged on their skill, grace and movement in three different categories.
Trainers say the work is hard, but it's more than worth it in the end.
"Just watching people achieve their goals working hard, you know, for the kids I think it really gives them a great sense of responsibility," says Kristen Abbatiello, owner of Sea Horse Stables. "And I love horses and taking care of them."
Sean Hogan says it's his first show as club president. He said he prayed for good weather, and got what he wanted on Tuesday.
There are activities for nonriders that include visiting lifestyle boutiques and getting grub from food trucks.
The show is open to the public and runs until Friday, with a ticketed luncheon on Saturday.
Organizers say the event benefits the EQUUS Foundation, which funds horse welfare charities nationwide.
