A Greenburgh father is accused of driving drunk with his 5-year-old daughter in tow and making pit stops to urinate.
Police say Steven Sicilian, 46, was speeding along Norwood Road Sunday around 10 p.m. with his child in the back seat. Sicilian was allegedly so intoxicated that he stopped to urinate in a parking lot and then at a gas station.
Sicilian is charged with DWI and child endangerment, stunning his neighbors.
"From what I know of him, it's a big shock. It's sad," said neighbor Grace Williams, whose boy often plays with Sicilian's daughter. Williams says car trips are now out of the question. "I wouldn't allow my children to get in the car with someone who's under the influence."
Residents say the incident is part of a troubling trend of parents driving drunk with their children in their cars. Ann Marie Ciarcia is currently serving time for a fatal wrong-way crash on the Saw Mill River Parkway in September 2006. She crashed into another car head-on, killing her teenage daughter's friend.
