Alleged pirated DVD lands teacher in hot water
An end-of-the-year movie showing for some fifth-graders has landed a Peekskill teacher in hot water.
Earlier this week, Hillcrest Elementary School fifth-grade teacher Lovell Quiroz decided to show the movie ?Shrek the Third? to his class.
Since the movie is still in theaters, how could he get it on DVD? When asked by one student, Quiroz allegedly confessed that it was a pirated copy.
When the child informed her father, he called the school to say Quiroz was setting a bad example.
The Peekskill school district issued a statement saying that if a pirated copy was shown, it was done in violation of district policy. There is no word on any disciplinary action against the teacher. The school said it is investigating the incident.
