Alleged clock prank contributors start punishment
Dozens of Hendrick Hudson High School students who allegedly contributed to a criminal senior-day prank began their community service.
Nineteen students are facing felony charges after school officials say they planted 67 ticking alarm clocks throughout school. The action sparked a bomb scare.
Thirty-one other students who school officials believe helped pay for the clocks and knew about the prank are also being punished. Those students will spend the next two days cleaning up the school if they want to participate in graduation ceremonies.
The prank has been the talk of the town and opinions on the punishment differ. Many feel the punishment does not fit the crime. However, others feel the prank was serious in nature and the students need to be held accountable for their actions.
The 19 students facing charges are banned from walking during the graduation ceremony on Friday.
