A Yonkers man accused of intentionally setting a fire that led to a local firefighter's death pleaded not guilty Wednesday.
Rafael Roldan's lawyer, whose client faces a six-felony count indictment that includes murder, entered the plea in a courthouse full of Yonkers and White Plains firefighters.
Roldan faces up to 25 years in prison for allegedly setting the Oct. 2 fire at 149 Waverly St. that killed firefighter Patrick Joyce and severely injured two other firefighters.
According to court documents, Roldan first denied any involvement in the alleged arson, but when pressed by police, he reportedly confessed to setting the fire.
Roldan is due back in court Nov. 18.
