Speed Week began in New York on Monday, as police crack down on road safety.
The effort means that state police will be paying extra attention to speeders and aggressive drivers.
State police say they issued nearly 24,000 tickets statewide this time last year.
Port Chester police say officers also issued 16 tickets last month as part of a new effort to stop modified mufflers as part of a state law.
Port Chester police say that anyone who owns a vehicle with a modified muffler risks losing their license. The crackdown also impacts businesses that modify mufflers.
