Strong winds have not only knocked out power to thousands of homes and businesses, but are also causing traffic problems across the regions.

A downed telephone pole is blocking the east bound lane of Tarrytown Road at Manhattan Avenue in Greenburgh.

Utility crews are on the scene trying to make repairs but it is unknown what time the road will fully reopen. Motorists are being asked to avoid the area.

County police say that all parkways are currently open.
