State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo has announced Thursday that money collected from the long-time polluters of the Bronx River will go toward nine cleanup projects.

The projects, five of which will be based in Westchester, come with a price tag of $1.8 million, which will come from the $7 million that Yonkers Raceway and four communities paid in 2007 for dumping pollutants into the river.

Ashford Park in Ardsley will get $51,000 that will be used for storm water management and landscaping. In Eastchester, Supervisor Anthony Colavita says a $170,000 grant will be used to control pollution from the town's municipal maintenance yard.
